OWS is committed to creating a safe environment for campers at #LibertyPlaza, so we are excited to announce the creation of the People’s Firehouse – or Fire Department of Liberty Plaza (FDLP)!

By consensus of the General Assembly, the People’s Firehouse – named in honor of Engine 212 in North Brooklyn, which was occupied for 18 months (http://prattcenter NULL.net/northside-town-hall-community-center) after budget cuts forced its closure – will serve the camp around the clock and be staffed by trained fire experts.
